What is the Body?

The Body is a corporate entity which produces Carter Burwell's work.

The Body is a composing, recording and mixing studio.

The Body is a record company which released the soundtrack to the film Kinsey.

What is new?

The new film from the Coen Brothers, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, is in a limited theatrical release and is streaming on Netflix. The soundtrack album is available from Milan Records.

The Brussels Philharmonic has recorded a collection of Carter Burwell's orchestral scores, available on CD, download and streaming.

Carter Burwell had three films out at the end of 2017:

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Martin McDonagh wrote and directed, starring Frances McDormand, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Lucas Hedges and Peter Dinklage. A small-town mom goes to war with the police.

Wonderstruck, directed by Todd Haynes from the book by Brian Selznick, starring Julianne Moore, Michelle Williams, Oakes Fegley and Millicent Simmonds. Two 12-year-olds leave home in search of family and find themselves in the same place - 50 years apart.

Goodbye Christopher Robin, directed by Simon Curtis, starring Domhnall Gleason, Margot Robbie, Will Tilston and Kelly Macdonald. After World War I, a humorist and playwright seeks solace in the English countryside with his family. His son teaches him to play again, and that boy, Christopher Robin, lives forever in the Winnie-the-Pooh books, to his own chagrin.

Awards action 2017-2018: Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri was nominated for a Golden Globe for best score and won the British Independent Film Award for best score of 2017. Wonderstruck is nominated for a Satellite Award for best score of 2017.
